CHECKLIST FOR YOUR DIGITAL MARKETING AGENCY

Checklist for your Digital Marketing Agency
Choosing a Digital Marketing Agency can be hard, but choosing your first Digital Marketing Agency can be even harder. With so many agencies offering a plethora of services, it becomes confusing as to which one is the best for you. So we at Wecraft thought it would be a great idea to make a checklist for the services to look for in a Digital Marketing Agency.
Here are some pointers that you should consider before selecting an agency.
Pricing
Firstly, figure out what your budget is, and what is the range of your budget. Choose an agency that has a transparent pricing structure, don’t just choose any agency just because it’s cheap, research about how you’d like the agency to spend your money. Many agencies would pitch you without proper numbers and how they’ll spend your money, stay away from them. If the exact budget is not available, at least get a range from them at which they will operate.
Experience
Experience is a key factor when it comes to choosing a digital marketing agency, but just not overall experience, the experience should be in your relevant field of work, for example, if you are a Pharmaceutical brand, was the agency previously working with Pharma brands? That’s the question you should ask. Their records in the relevant field should show their success.
What if it’s a New Agency?
Choosing an agency that has less experience than other agencies or worse, no experience can be a little hard. When you are considering choosing an agency that has less experience, look for the differences. Observe how they work, see how creative they are, more often than not the new agencies are very creative and efficient, because of their hunger to succeed in the market. New agencies are often cheaper than others. If you need your brand image to be creative or you need to stand out of the crowd you can choose these types of agencies, but keep in mind the risk factor that they do not have the experience, but again all of this depends on you, you can also play it safe.
Case Studies and Present Endeavors.
Case studies can be a great start at understanding the potential of an agency. Look at their case studies and search for a brand that has a brand image similar to yours. This would give you an idea about how they would work with you. Also, look at what they are working on, at present, this could give you a perspective about how they manage time.
Online Presence.
One of the major factors while considering a Digital Marketing agency is their online presence. If their online presence is not good, how can you expect they will be good at making yours better. Look at how their website looks and feels, how good their writing is and what all content they are producing online. Research their Social media accounts and see what they are posting, look at their creatives, look at how the creative copy looks overall.
- Reach: Look at the reach of the agency, they should be able to deliver your message to the right target audience.
Expertise
Figure out what expertise you need from an agency and then compare, if the said agency has expertise in that field. The expertise can be of any kind:
- SEO – Search Engine Optimisation.
- Keyword research
- Web design
- PR – Public Relations
- Advertising (digital and traditional)
- Graphic design
- Media buying
- Inbound marketing
- Content marketing
- E-commerce
- Analytics
- Lead generation
These services may or may not be relevant to your business but the point is to research what you need from a Digital Marketing Agency and then use that information to get a good one.
Pitch.
When you select an agency, observe how they present their pitch. Every agency pitches differently, it’s not possible to give you the exact details but I can give you a general outline.
It’s all about how they convince you if they can convince you chances are they can convince your target audience as well. Look for details, see if they got your brand image right or not, see if they targeted the proper demographics.
ROI
Numbers speak for themselves, check if the ROI, that is the return on investment of the agency is high or not. Most of them will not show you the exact numbers but still, you can get a rough estimate as to what their ROI is.
Quantifying results.
Does the agency have quantifiable results? Have they posted it on their website as a portfolio? All of these are questions you should be asking yourself. Look for Analytics about the services they offer, as that would give you a strong perspective about how efficient and profitable their services are.
